Machine guards are designed to protect you from the hazards of moving machinery parts. The absence or incorrect use of machine and tool guards can cause serious injury or death. Without proper guarding, loose clothing or hair can get caught by rotating or reciprocating mechanisms. Fingers and hands can get caught in rollers, gears, pulleys, belts, and chain drives. Coworkers working near moving machine parts are also at risk of getting cut, sheared, or crushed unless the machine is properly guarded. PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT - 16 Minutes
An emergency can occur at any time at a food processing facility. Therefore, you must be aware of safety rules and procedures of the facility and be prepared to evacuate in a timely and safe manner in the event of fire, severe weather, natural disaster, or even acts of terrorism. This course will explain information that could help you evacuate during an emergency.
RCRA PART ONE - 20 Minutes
The trainee will learn the purpose of the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and how to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste.
RCRA PART TWO - 25 Minutes
Course covers the categories of hazardous waste generators; how to determine your generator status; hazardous waste management and storage requirements; and how to prepare your hazardous waste for shipment off-site.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION - 11 Minutes
Inhalation is the most common way that chemicals enter the body. Exposure to contaminated air may cause cancer, lung impairment, or even death. Wearing a respirator can protect you against environments with insufficient oxygen, harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, gases, vapors, and sprays. Understanding and complying with the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard could prevent hundreds of deaths and thousands of illnesses annually. This training will present the basic requirements of the respiratory protection program and will focus on the types and limitations of respirators.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION - 50 Minutes (Available in Spanish)
About 5 million employees in 1.3 million establishments use respirators at one time or another. Improper use of respirators can result in overexposure to hazardous contaminants; oxygen deficiency (suffocation) or acute and chronic health effects. This lesson teaches the purpose of respirators; the elements of the respirator program; the consequences of improper use; maintenance cleaning, and storage of respirators; and that physical evaluations are required for respirator wearers.
RPPA TRAINING A: COURSE SET-UP - 67 Minutes
The purpose of this program is to provide Respiratory Protection Program Administrators with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage a worksite respiratory protection program, and to inform them on how to develop and apply basic strategies to ensure Respiratory Protection Program success. Part A covers course setup. It is an explanation of lesson structure and topics covered in the RPPA courses, overview of the federal regulations regarding respiratory protection, and explanation of chemical hazards and the body, including the risks against which employees must be protected.
RPPA TRAINING B: RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM - 57 Minutes
This course provides an overview of a respiratory protection program and an overview of the Respiratory Protection Program Administrator's job.
RPPA TRAINING C: THE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM - 95 Minutes Work site evaluation is an important part of creating a respiratory protection program. This course will help you develop an evaluation procedure. At completion of this course, the RPPA will understand the physical forms of chemicals, what constitutes a “chemical dose,” how to understand and recognize OSHA PELs, how chemical exposures are measured and compared to the PEL, and how an RPPA can make a reasonable estimate of exposure. Without this knowledge and skill, it is impossible to safeguard worker health. This area of the course covers the mandatory medical evaluation process. In it, you’ll learn about who is evaluated and when – who does the evaluations, and what happens as a result of the evaluation.
RPPA TRAINING D: RESPIRATORY PROTECTION SPECIFICS - 170 Minutes
This course will explain each different respirator, how to determine the correct respirator to use and the proper methods for fit testing respiratory equipment. It also explains how to properly maintain, inspect, store, and use respirators as well as explain what information RPP documentation needs to contain and who has access to these records.
SAFE BBACKING AND TURNING - 35 Minutes (Available in Spanish) Backing accidents represent more than half of the motor vehicle accidents reported by many of the nation’s largest fleets on an annual basis. Backing is our weakest skill because we spend 99% of our time driving forward. A consistent defensive approach to backing and turning can reduce the likelihood of driver error. This training is designed to serve as a training tool for new drivers as well as veteran drivers.
SCAFFOLDING - 40 Minutes This course is designed to provide an overview of the principles of scaffold safety and responsibilities of both supervisors and employees. Participants will learn the steps in scaffold design and wire rope shielding, inspection checklists and the use of fall protection.
SPILL PREVENTION, CONTROL AND COUNTERMEASURES (SPCC) - 26 Minutes (Available in Spanish)
SPCC training program is designed for any employee involved in oil handling, transferring, storing, responding to spills or maintaining oil equipment. Participants will learn the steps to take in the event of a spill, how to prevent spills, and how to properly handle waste and drums.
SPRAY FINISHING V.2 - 25 Minutes (Available in Spanish)
OSHA (or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) defines spray finishing operations as the “employment of methods wherein organic or inorganic materials are utilized in dispersed form for deposit on surfaces to be coated, treated, or cleaned.” In other words, the method of coating, treating or cleaning surfaces, such as engines and components, using specifically designed equipment used to spray organic or inorganic materials. Spray operations can present both physical and health hazards to those involved. This module covers flammable and combustible finishing materials when applied as a spray by compressed air. This module applies to indoor spray application only; it does not apply to outdoor spray applications.
STROM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION - 12 Minutes (Available in Spanish)
This lesson teaches the purpose of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan; what storm water is; ways in which pollution is possible; ways to prevent pollution; and what to do when a spill occurs.
THREE DIMENSIONS OF SAFE DRIVING - LARGE VEHICLE - 35 Minutes(Available in Spanish)
Most vehicle accidents are the result of human error. If an error is made at the wrong moment, an accident or collision will result. A consistent defensive approach to driving is the best way to reduce the likelihood of driver error. This training module provides an overview of the three dimensions of safe driving for commercial vehicles. Using all three dimensions when you drive gives you a complete system of driving practices that can make your time on the road safer and more enjoyable.
TOWING TRAILERS - 22 Minutes
Trailers towed by motor vehicles provide an efficient, convenient way to carry heavy loads but they present new challenges to drivers unused to their operation. Trailers are often involved in accidents caused by poor roads, adverse driving conditions, inexperienced drivers, or poor equipment maintenance. The best way to avoid accidents like these is to understand exactly how towing a trailer affects the vehicle you are driving and what you can do as a driver to stay safe as you tow your load. That is what you will learn in this training.
WAREHOUSE SAFETY - 47 Minutes
If you look around your warehouse, you will see all kinds of materials, equipment and vehicles that can be dangerous. So is a warehouse a safe place or a dangerous place? The answer is; It’s up to you! If you do your work the safe way, monitor your surroundings, and correct unsafe conditions when you find them, you will contribute to a safe working environment. This training is designed to give you the information you need to create a safety warehouse environment.
